Sidney Diaz is a New York-based Puerto Rican actress and classically trained performer drawn to emotionally honest, character-driven storytelling.

Most recently, Sidney made her regional theatre debut as Raelynn Nix in John Proctor Is the Villain at Northern Stage, directed by Sarah Elizabeth Wansley. A graduate of Rutgers University’s Mason Gross School of the Arts and the Rutgers Conservatory at Shakespeare’s Globe, her credits include Hermione in The Winter’s Tale, Olivia in Twelfth Night, Joan in Joan of Arc, and Emilie in The Moors. She also appeared in HBO’s Slave Play. Not a Movie. A Play.

As a Puerto Rican artist, Sidney is passionate about representing the richness and complexity of Latino communities in stories of all kinds. She believes representation extends beyond stories centered on identity, and hopes to bring the full spectrum of human experience to the characters she portrays, from love and laughter to heartbreak and everything in between. Above all, she is drawn to storytelling that fosters empathy and allows audiences from all walks of life to recognize a piece of themselves in the characters onstage or onscreen.

Outside of acting, Sidney’s love of travel and experiencing different cultures continues to deepen her curiosity about people and the world around her, a perspective she brings to every role.
